Cal Reuel Call, 35, of Woodland Hills, Utah, died Friday, April 21, 1995 at the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo, Utah, from complications following his battle with cancer.

He was born May 7, 1959 in Afton, Wyoming, a son of LaVal and LaBerta Wolfley Call. He married Lori Ann Stephenson on January 20, 1983 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Cal graduated from Afton High School and attended Ricks College and BYU. While at Ricks he was a member of the Ricks College Freedom Singers. Cal served a mission to Tokyo, Japan. As a missionary he was instrumental in organizing a musical group to relay gospel principles through modern music. This missionary group called "Family", toured Japan for one year selling over 10,000 copies of their "Family Album". Cal is an active member of the Salem 5th Ward, where he has served in various capacities, currently as President of the Sunday School. He was a devoted employee of Novell, Inc. and as a product manager he developed and marketed a tech support encyclopedia. Cal had a genuine love for his family and friends. This love extended into a great desire to do missionary and genealogy work. He best expressed himself through his music. A powerful drummer, Cal played in dance bands, recorded albums and music videos which have been aired on MTV. He shared his great enthusiasm for life with those he loved.

Survivors include his wife, Lori, his children, Skyler, Landon, Lacey and Blaze, all of Woodland Hills; his parents, LaVal and LaBerta Call, Afton, Wyoming; three brothers and two sisters, Tonie Marie Goodman and Angie Liddell, both of Orem; Mike Call and Shon Call, both of Bountiful; Lynn Call, Afton; his grandparents, Reuel and Verna Call, Afton.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 25, at 1:00 p.m. in the Salem Stake Center, 470 East Salem Canal Road, Salem, Utah. Friends may call Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 East 800 North, Orem, and Tuesday at the stake center from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. prior to the services. Burial will be in the Orem City Cemetery.
