Evan played guitar with Aystar during his Jr. and Sr. year at Timpview (see the band playing in 1979 below).

Evan died on June 1, 1979 in a waterskiing accident on Utah Lake (shortly after graduating from Timpview High School). Stairway to Heaven was sung at his funeral.

Buried at East Lawn Cemetery, Provo, Utah.
