Ken Van Wagenen
Mike was a great guy with a magical voice and great range. He may have played in those other bands but he was a founding member of Magellan in 1972....Magic Carpet Ride, Light My Fire on Vox Jaguar Organ, and Footstompin' Music...Jim Byrd, Kevin Wright, Mike Gabbitas and Ken Van Wagenen...wish he were here...

We still miss Mike very much. He added so much to our band and 1st Album.

I just posted a video of Mike and Peace & Quiet Circa 1983 on my Rocker Profile. If he had not died, I have no doubt that we could have gone on to fame and fortune. That song was a huge hit in Europe in 2000.

I went to elementry school junior high and high school with Mike. My earliest memory is when in 5th grade we wnt to his house and in the basement he showed me how to play the intro to innagattadavida. (painstakingly i might add) He was always a loyal friend and great musician. I was not awre that he died until quite recently.
I am dearly sorry for his passing.

I bought my first keyboard from Mike. I also remember a terrifing motorcycle ride as he gave me a ride from town to home down center street in Provo about 100 miles per hour! I had no idea he was such a great vocalist too. I'm sorry we lost him so many years ago.
